Alexandre Gauthier


I was born a chef.
In 2003, I took over the family restaurant "La Grenouillère" near Montreuil-sur-Mer in the Pas-de-Calais region.
There, I elaborate a unique, authentic, signature cuisine. I humbly anchor it in my region, in the Côte d’Opale which I explore in all its aspects, natural and human. I offer a true French-rooted contemporary cuisine, unburdened by its convictions and its a priori.
In 2009, I entrusted the architect Patrick Bouchain with the makeover of the restaurant to modernize the place. My ambition is for La Grenouillère to be much more than a mere restaurant.
La Grenouillère is a house of freedom and expression for those who live in it and live it with me.

I promote contemporary cuisine by offering my vision of a taste and a territory, wich fully embraces who I am.
Being contemporary, keeping up with the times, is also about conserving with other worlds, receiving critical esteem, sending your cuisine beyond borders.
La Grenouillère is a house for chefs, for sharing, and a house of freedom and expression. 12 years of daily work, meetings, exchanges, passion and desires, day after day, month after month... 12 years of constant motion.
I love this Albert Camus recipe: "La meilleure façon de préparer l’avenir est de tout donner au présent." (The best way to prepare for the future consists in giving everything to the present.)

The restaurant

Among a forge, a smokehouse and a hop kiln.
Open throughout the day onto a verdant nature, the Tiphaine Hameau garden. When night falls and darkness comes, the dining area closes in on itself to induce coziness under a starry sky.
La Grenouillère’s staff will assist you during this time of sharing.
